Connemara Chamber of Commerce is delighted to confirm that the ‘Derrygimlagh Discovery Point’ will be open this May.

Derrygimlagh will offer a 4.5km looped walk through the site of two technological breakthroughs that transformed the modern world:
The Marconi Wireless Radio Station & Alcock & Brown completing the first non-stop Transatlantic flight.

Tuesday 8pm – March 22nd – Connemara West, Letterfrack
Tuesday 8pm – April 5th – Clifden Station House, Clifden
Thursday 8pm – April 7th – Ballyconneely Hall, Ballyconneely

Speakers on the night:
Shane Joyce – Engineer and/or Michael Gibbons – Archaeologist
Shane and Michael have done extensive work on the site and will give an
informative presentation on the site and its history.

Brian Quinn – Fáilte Ireland
Brian will speak on the Fáilte Ireland initiative for the
Wild Atlantic Way Operational Programme 2015 – 2019 which goal is to ensure delivery of benefits to Connemara.
