This is a chip timed cycling sportive on open roads in stunning Connemara, West of Ireland, and will take place on Sunday 21st August 2016.
Challenge yourself, or make it a club challenge. The Étape Connemara is a fun sportive with a competitive edge.
You are against the clock to complete the challenging 100km OR 150km route through Connemara. Many of our riders participate for their own personal challenge. It is also a great opportunity to test you and your club members that you ride with regularly. You can all work together and push yourselves without the pressure of an official race, but you still get an official time! The event is proving to be a popular challenge for riders from all over the country and even overseas.
The event is organised by Croí, the heart & stroke charity, with all proceeds going back to support the fight against heart disease and stroke in the West. Croí have over 20 years experience in delivering the Annual Lough Corrib Cycle which attracts over 1200 participants each year. The charity is totally funded by its own fundraising initiatives and over the years, the charity has raised over €19 million to reduce the impact of Cardiovascular Disease on families in the west of Ireland.
