Organised by yoga teacher and summertime island resident Christine Stewart, the retreat is now in its second year and features yoga workshops and sessions with some of the world’s leading yoga practitioners including Benita Galvan (Arizona, USA), Jack Harrison (Galway, IRE) and Jaye Martin (Florida, USA).

With a great sense of fun and adventure, the three seasoned teachers have multiple years of experience in yoga and are all returning to the island for the second year of the festival. Ten workshops are available throughout the week, as well as island excursions including guided walks, horse riding, pottery throwing or boating. Expect long sunny days, blue skies, white sandy beaches and a wonderful community of like-minded yogis gathering together on one of Ireland’s most picturesque islands.

Benita Galvan (Arizona, USA) is an internationally renowned Anusara yoga teacher. With over twenty-seven years as a fitness teacher and thirty-eight years studying nature based metaphysical teachings, Galvan brings a wealth of yoga experience to the retreat.

Jack Harrison (Galway, IRL) is a yoga teacher, singer and folklorist. He has worked and studied in all three of these areas for the last 30 years and has recently started blending them together in his Yoga Music Workshops. He is an experienced Anusara Inspired and Ashtanga Yoga teacher, has a Master’s degree in Irish Folklore, and continues to lecture in Irish Heritage at NUI Galway.

Now certified in Anusara Yoga, Jaye Martin (Florida, USA) apprenticed with John Friend and has both studied and taught with Betsey Downing, Douglas Brooks, and Sianna Sherman. Martin instructs several yoga teacher trainings and leads workshops as well as retreats internationally.

Workshops will be 2 to 2.5 hours long with lots of time to explore asana, philosophy, meditation and relaxation, weaving the myths of ancient Ireland and yoga onto the practice with music and song.

Tickets, priced between €120 to €300, for this special week on Inishbofin are now on sale.
