Die Schone Mullerin
(The Lovely Maid of the Mill) is one of Schubert’s earliest song cycles (composed when he was 26) and is based on a series of poems by Wilhelm Muller. The songs express all the human emotions of youthful cheerful optimism to despair and tragedy.
