The annual Mol an Oige Concert takes place in the Church of Ireland in Clifden on Dec 21st 2014.
Featuring some of Conamara’s finest young musicians, singers and dancers, this vibrant event captures the spirit of Christmas and celebrates the very best of Conamara goodwill. All money raised goes to local St. Vincent de Paul.

Inishbofin Half Marathon and 10K takes place on May 16th 2015 on the beautiful island of Inishbofin, on Connemara’s stunning Wild Atlantic Way.
Whether you’re a serious runner looking for a new challenge, or a rookie looking to run, jog or walk on quiet roads, the route offers a mix of flat and inclined terrain, meandering through fine scenery, with spectacular views of the beautiful Connemara mountains.
Walk, jog or run past pristine beaches, bogs and mountains, while raising vital funds for Down Syndrome Galway’s speech and language therapy project.
Race fee €55 includes race entry, boat ticket, T-shirt, post race refreshments and evening BBQ and music

Ireland’s Weather: A journey through time.Talk by Evelyn Cusack, Deputy Head of Forecasting at Met Eireann and a well known voice and presence to us all!
She discusses our astonishingly changeable weather and will help us to gain a better insight into the natural forces at play. Evelyn’s main role is communicating the expected weather with the Irish public which includes providing timely warnings of severe weather in order to help save lives and property both on land and at sea. However promoting The Scientific Method as applied to Meteorology is also her passion. Evelyn discusses the different climates and reveals to us how lucky we are to exist at all on this unique planet and in particular what a benign climate we have in Ireland.

The 21st Tour de Lough Corrib charity cycle will take place on Sunday, June 12th 2016. This fun cycling sportive is the biggest charity cycle in the West of Ireland.
Cyclists will have a choice of a 45KM or a 120KM route through the picturesque setting of Connemara. Entry is FREE but we ask people to raise funds to support the fight against heart disease & stroke. Roadside assistance, support vehicles and plenty of refreshment stops will be provided on the day.
All cyclists must sign in on the morning at the NUIG Regional Sports Pavilion, Dangan, Galway between 7.15am – 815am, with the cycle start at 8.30am. Cyclists must return their sponsorship/donation at this time.

Starting at the NUIG Regional Sports Pavilion in Dangan, the 120KM Riders will turn left onto the N59 and ride along Newcastle Road. At the Traffic Lights, turn left onto the Quincentennial Bridge and follow the signs to Headford. The Route then follows through Headford, onto Cong, Maam, Maam Cross, Oughterard, Moycullen and will finish at the Croí Heart & Stroke.
The 45KM Riders will turn right onto the N59 and travel out to Oughterard and back to the finish at the Croí Heart & Stroke Centre.
